The Aggie volleyball team defeated Boise State 3-1 to improve to 7-1 in conference play and 13-7 overall. The Aggie football team fell 31-14 to San Jose State. The Aggies fall to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

Aggies Roll Past Alcorn State 45-10

The Aggie football team built a 38-3 halftime lead and cruised to a 45-0 victory over Alcorn State on Saturday to improve to 2-2 on the season. Marquell Colston rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns and Chris Williams had two plays of 80 plus yards, the first an 80 yard reception from Chase Holbrook for a touchdown and the second and 83-yard punt return for a touchdown. The punt return for a touchdown was the Aggies' first since the 2000 season. Chase Holbrook finished the day 20 for 25 passing with two touchdowns and his first game of the season with zero interceptions.

Aggies Come Up Short On Rivalry Day

The Aggie volleyball team and the Aggie football team both came up short on Rivalry Day. The volleyball fell in three sets to the #7 Hawai'i Wahine, losing 26-24, 25-20 and 25-23. The Aggies are now 3-1 in conference play and 8-7 overall.  Continue Reading This Post >>

Aggies Win Battle Of I-10, 34-33

The Aggies defeated the UTEP Miners 34-33 in the Sun Bowl on Saturday night to take its second straight victory in the rivalry. More to follow on Sunday.

Aggies Open Season With Loss At Nebraska

LINCOLN, NE - The New Mexico State football team was outmatched by the Nebraska Cornhuskers in its season opening game Saturday night, where the Huskers handed the Aggies a 38-7 defeat at Memorial Stadium. Nebraska improved to 3-0 with the win while the Aggies drop to 0-1.

The Aggies, who were the last team in Division I to play in their first game, had trouble getting the ball into the end zone. NMSU was in the Huskers red zone four different times, but only came away with points on one of those drives.

Junior running back Marquell Colston scored NMSU's lone touchdown on the evening evening. He scattered in the end zone on a three-yard run that was set up by a 48-yard fumble return by senior cornerback Marvin Betts to the Nebraska three.  Continue Reading This Post >>

Aggie Football Has Competitive Spring Game

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The New Mexico State football team held its annual spring game Saturday, April 26, at Aggie Memorial Stadium as the NMSU defense defeated the NMSU offense 35-17 in a four-quarter battle on the gridiron.

McDermott finished the game going 32-of-49 for 281 yards and two touchdowns, as Julius Fleming tallied nine catches for 94 yards and a touchdown. Marcus Anderson grabbed seven passes while LaVorick Williams brought in eight. Defensively, the Aggies tallied six sacks as Nick Paden led the way with eight tackles and a sack.  Continue Reading This Post >>
