BAKERSFIELD, CA New Mexico State came up just short on Friday as they fell to CSU Bakersfield. The Aggies’ bullpen pitched well enough to get the win, as Chris Butcher, Ruger Rodriguez and Joe Galindo combined to only allow one hit and strike out six ‘Runners in five innings. Rodriguez, a native of Los Chaves, N.M., punched out four CSUB batters, setting a new career high.
The Roadrunners started off hot with a leadoff single up the middle. Another base hit put runners on the corners. The first run of the game came in on a double to left.
