ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - New Mexico State softball defeated I-25 rival New Mexico on Tuesday. The Aggies defeated the Lobos 7-6 to complete the season sweep of their in-state rivals. It was also head coach Kathy Rodolph's 500th win at the NCAA level.
How it happened
NM State (24-22) struck first in the top of the third when Destiny Blueford started the inning with a bunt single. Jeanelle Medina followed with a single of her own, putting runners on first and second with no outs in the inning. After Rachel Rodriguez advanced the runners on a sacrifice bunt, Blueford scored when Caity Szczesny reached on a fielder's choice.
