EL PASO, TX - The New Mexico State softball team split a pair of contests during the UTEP Tournament at the Helen of Troy Field on Saturday. NM State took down Idaho State 8-3 but fell to Portland State 6-5.
"Today we learned about battling back," head coach Kathy Rodolph said. "Both Idaho State and Portland State came to play today. I tip my hat to Portland State. Hopefully this is going to give us experience we need to play every single day. I'm proud of the girls, we battled but we just battled too late."
