LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The New Mexico State Athletics Department announced today that the Aggies football team will play BYU in 2011 and 2012 in a home-and-home series. The Aggies will travel to Provo, Utah in 2011 and BYU will return the game in Las Cruces in 2012.
"Obviously after losing Boise State for the 2011 and 2012 season, one of our goals was to identify a comparable school so as to get a home and away game," Athletics Director Dr. McKinley Boston said. "The scheduling alliance allows us to address that issue. I’m also excited because of the significant Mormon presence in Las Cruces and that many people will be able to come to watch a game at New Mexico State, maybe for the first time. I know BYU draws very well, both home and away. This should be a good alliance and certainly over the next couple of years we will have several conversations about additional opportunities."
