NM State Release 2010 Football Season Ticket Plans

Written By: NM State Athletic Dept.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The New Mexico State athletic department released the season and single-game prices for the 2010 football season.

The 2010 NM State football home schedule includes non-conference opponents San Diego State on Sept. 11 and I-25 rival New Mexico on October 9. In addition, four WAC opponents will visit Las Cruces in 2010, including Fiesta Bowl Champion Boise State, Louisiana Tech, San Jose State, and Hawaii. The dates of the WAC games will be announced at a later date, pending completion of the WAC’s ESPN schedule.

Like 2009, a season ticket purchase is the best deal for Aggie fans, saving 56% off the single-game prices in most sections. Season tickets start for as little as $44 for general admission seats and chairback seats at midfield cost just $117. However, most seats in the stadium are priced between $47 and $52. Compare the season ticket prices to single-game prices and the savings for Aggie fans that choose season tickets is significant.  Continue Reading This Post >>

Aggie Football Signing Day Press Conference Quotes

Head Coach DeWayne Walker
We're very excited about this class. I feel like our coaches did a very good job. We identified our needs on both sides of the ball. Offensively we got a couple of quarterbacks I think will come in and compete right away. I thought we got a couple offensive linemen that will help beef up our offensive line. We got a speed receiver, we took a young tight end, we have a bunch of senior tight ends this season. Defensively I feel like we weren't very strong up the middle. We got two big tackles. We've got a mike linebacker that'll be here in the spring and we have a free safety that we're very excited about and we took a high school corner. Overall I think we really accomplished what we set out to get the type of players we need to keep building this program.  Continue Reading This Post >>

Walker Announces 2010 Signing Class

Written By: NM State Athletic Dept.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - New Mexico State head football coach DeWayne Walker announced the Aggies’ 2010 signing class Wednesday, Feb 3. Sixteen student-athletes signed a National Letter of Intent with the Aggies to attend New Mexico State University and play football beginning in 2010.

“I feel that we identified our needs in order to continue to compete in the Western Athletic Conference,” Walker said. “Comparing our talent level to other teams this past season, we were behind in several areas, and I thought offensively we were able to get the tools we needed to be successful. Defensively, I thought we have a great group of players that will be able to step in and fill some holes for us. Obviously, we would have liked to have taken a running back but with the number of scholarships we had we needed to address our immediate needs for now.”

The Aggies’ 2010 signing class is full of junior college transfers and high school student-athletes. The defensive line and offensive line were a focus for Coach Walker’s second signing class as head coach. The Aggies signed three defensive lineman and three offensive linemen. Also signing with NM State were three linebackers, two wide receivers, two quarterbacks, a defensive back, a safety and one tight end to round out the signing class.  Continue Reading This Post >>

"Martin and I go way back when he used to work my defensive back camps when I was in the NFL and I think he is the type of guy that will bring a lot of experience as a former defensive coordinator," Walker said. "He kind of reminds me of how I got my career started in the junior college ranks. Martin understands our type of defense and what we like to do from a fundamental standpoint. I think this will be a smooth transition with him working with coach Rutenberg to continue to improve our secondary."  Continue Reading This Post >>
