Swimming And Diving Pens Moore In Early Signing Period

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - New Mexico State swimming and diving head coach Rick Pratt has signed Brittney Moore to a National Letter of Intent, in the early signing period. Moore is a freestyle and individual medley specialist from Spokane, Wash.

Moore is a senior at Mead High School in Spokane, Wash., and she competes for the Spokane Area Swimming club and head coach Todd Marsh. Her personal best times include a 1:54.8 mark in the 200 free, 5:04 performance in the 500 free and 4:35 time in the 400 IM.

Pratt said he expects Moore to make an instant impact on the Aggie squad when she arrives in Las Cruces next fall.

"Brittany is a great person and we are very excited to have her be a part of our team," he said. "She will contribute immediately at the WAC level and will bring much depth and quality to our middle distance free and IM group.   Continue Reading This Post >>

Swimming and Diving Ranked No. 21 Nationally In Academics

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The New Mexico State swimming and diving team is the No. 21 squad on the NCAA Division I Academic All-American list for the spring 2007 semester, according to the College Swimming Coaches Association of American (CSCAA), the organization announced recently.

The Aggies recorded a team grade point average of 3.394, which was the highest ranked team in the WAC.

"I am very proud of our team dedication in the classroom," swimming and diving head coach Rick Pratt said. "Being well rounded is something we strive for, and this quality will serve each member of our team for the rest of their lives."

NMSU begins practice for the 2007-08 season Tuesday, Sept. 4.
